Farm Country

Last weekend we went on an outing to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. We had been considering going to the Aquarium in Sandy, but decided instead on the slightly cheaper, outdoor option at Thanksgiving Point. We had a nice enough time, even though it got quite cold toward the end of our visit because of all the wind. We also happened to run into some old friends of Duncan's who were visiting from California. What are the chances?

We arrived right around milking time for Millie the cow. Duncan gave her a squeeze.

Then Chloe got to ride a pony. She loved it and did a great job holding on all by herself.

Then we played around outside and looked at animals.

Then we took a wagon ride around the block. This is what we saw.

Then we went and had some soup in the deli because we were cold and had runny noses. The end.

Hey, Let's Hang Out

Chloe has really been into hanging things lately. If something can be draped or looped or hung, then she will find a place to do it. Or, if there is a bare knob somewhere, she will find something to hang on it.

She even found a way to hang her Magna Doodle. This is what I find in my kitchen every time I go to open this cabinet door:
No matter how many times I put it away, this magnetic sketch pad always reappears and crashes to the floor when the open door stretches the string too far. For some reason she really likes to see it hanging there.

Duncan brought me three beautiful gerbera daisies for our anniversary. I love the subtle color.

Four Years

Yesterday, Duncan and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary.We're not much for big celebrations, so we just had dinner delivered and watched an episode of "Downton Abbey." We did take some time to reflect on some of the big events of the past four years. I thought I would include a few pictures that sort of mark the passage of time and the changes we have seen. I am so grateful to be married to Duncan. He is indeed the love of my life.

Last Weekend

What's Wrong With This Picture?

The picture is: it's 2:30 in the morning, I'm blogging, and Duncan is watching TV. I NEVER have trouble sleeping, yet I don't think I have slept more than four hours straight for the past two weeks. Two weeks. That's about how long I have had this lousy cold; and Duncan is sick, too. The minute I lie down, my throat starts tickling, my chest starts tightening and I have the overwhelming need to cough. I've had the humidifier humming faithfully at my bedside, but to no avail. I've consumed an entire bag of Ricola, without much relief. The funny thing is, tonight I haven't coughed that much, but I still can't sleep. What gives? At least I have some good viewing material to keep me occupied. I watched Episode 8 of Berkeley Square. I highly recommend this miniseries.

Pokey Trip and Chloe's 3rd Birthday

Aren't blogs great? It's so fun to go back and look at old posts. Three years ago, I posted this. What a joyful, crazy time that was. And now, three years later, we have this:

 And what a joyful, crazy time we are living now! This picture was taken last weekend in Idaho. We were at Duncan's sister's house and Chloe found this princess dress in her cousin's room. Boy, did she love wearing that thing. You can imagine the resistance, yea, even the tantrum, when it was time to leave. I have to admit, she does look sweet in it.

Yes, we were in Idaho last weekend (Pocatello and Rexburg). We had a nice visit with family, and we celebrated four birthdays (MaMere's, Hannah's, Chloe's and Mine--which isn't until March). And yes, I have many pictures of the occasion. We'll start with the birthday party in Pocatello (a.k.a. Pokey). In the first picture, I think Charlotte is already calculating a plan to get some cake, and you will see how she succeeds.

 I received two Christmas movies that Duncan watched every year growing up. Can't wait to carry on the tradition!

 The next day we went to Rexburg to bring cousins Madelyn and Ian back home to their mom and dad. (We actually rented a Chevy Tahoe so that we could all go in the same car. Fun times!) Oh, the spinning and twirling!

 By Sunday afternoon, we were ready to go home. This is what the girls looked like five minutes into the drive. Ahhh....silence.

 Well, except for Duncan. :)

If you're still reading this post, I'll show you how we celebrated Chloe's birthday the day of. Chloe and I made a butterfly cake. Then we all went to Malawi Pizza in the Provo Riverwoods for dinner. Then hopped across to the Provo Beach Resort (also in the Riverwoods) for a carousel ride, watching the indoor surfing, and playing on the toddler toys underneath the ropes course. You can imagine the resistance, yea, even the tantrum, when it was time to leave. Happy birthday, Chloe! We love you!
